PALIKIR, POHNPEI—September 28, 2026 – His Excellency President Wesley W. Simna, in accordance with Article IX, Section 16 of the FSM Constitution, has officially called for the Fourth Special Session of the 24th Congress of the Federated States of Micronesia to convene. The 5-day special session is scheduled to begin tomorrow, September 29, 2026.
The primary objective of this special session is the urgent consideration and resolution of the Compact Fund Accounting and Subrecipient Monitoring Bill currently pending in Congress. To comply with critical federal audit findings and secure the timely disbursement of FY 2027 Compact funds, this measure must be enacted into law by October 1, 2026. Alongside this high-priority piece of legislation, Congress will deliberate on other matters of national importance.
