Governor Narruhn Pays Courtesy Visit to Speaker Simina and Delegation

CHUUK, WENO. July 27, 2021– Speaker Wesley W. Simina received the Chuuk State Governor Alexander R. Narruhn and Lieutenant Governor Mekioshy William during a courtesy call on the Speaker and members of the Chuuk Delegation on Tuesday – July 27, 2021.

The Speaker and members of the Chuuk Delegation to the Twenty-Second Congress of the Federated States of Micronesia welcomed Governor Narruhn and his delegation comprised of Lt. Governor Mekioshy William, Economist Roger Arnold and the State Public Information Officer, Dan Suda.

Governor Narruhn thanked the Speaker for allowing time in their busy session schedule to accommodate his visit and shared with the Speaker a progress report on his Administration’s first 100-days in Office and the challenges thus far.

Discussion also touched upon the nominees from Chuuk currently pending before the Congress along with some urgent needs for the state of Chuuk.

The meeting ended on a positive note, with Mr. Speaker thanking the Governor and Lt. Governor for the courtesy visit and for discussing some of the issues and urgent needs for the state of Chuuk.

The Congress and Governor Narruhn agreed on working together to improve the livelihood of the state of Chuuk. Both reaffirmed their common wish to strengthen the working relationship of the state and national government on issues of mutual interest and importance.
