PALIKIR, POHNPEI. November 9, 2018– Speaker Wesley W. Simina has called for the Sixth Special Session of the 20th Congress of the Federated States of Micronesia to convene on November 13, 2018 in Palikir for a 5-day session.
Prior to the adjournment of the Fifth Regular Session in October, the Members had agreed to hold a special session to address the issues that remain pending before the Body. In accordance to the Congress Rules of Procedures, Section 2 of Rule 1, special sessions of the Congress can be called either by the Speaker or the President – on the written request of two-thirds of the Members. Reaching the required numbers, the Speaker has informed the other Branches of the National Government along with the state governments that the Sixth Special Session of the 20th Congress will convene in Palikir for five days beginning November 13, 2018.
The interested general public is always welcome to observe the sessions of the Congress.
